My lifelong passion for learning and experiencing the world has now led me to tutoring. I have a degree in drama, and I have worked as a gymnastics coach, camp counselor, sports teacher, arts and crafts counselor, and a variety of academic subjects for grade school students. Along with my variety of teaching areas, I studied many subjects in school besides just drama. I took classes in a range of subjects, including astronomy and mythology. My passions for working with students and with performance help me when teaching both English and Spanish. I use techniques from my theatre training to help students memorize information, but in a fun way. I take the job very seriously, but I also want my students to feel like their education is enjoyable! Not only does this approach help students with basic academic subjects and reading comprehension, this focus on entertaining in learning also helps them with standardized test preparation, which can seem frightening and stressful at first. However, my relaxed and humorous approach to tutoring helps my students know that there is nothing to be afraid of when preparing for tests. I want my students to express themselves and feel confident in their ability to learn any subject.
