I believe that students should look forward to working with their tutor and not dread the time spent together. For this reason, I work hard to ensure that my sessions are enjoyable for the student and that also helps to foster a love for the subject we are working on. I have worked with tutors in the past where I did not enjoy myself and ones where I have, so I understand the importance of creating an atmosphere that the student wants to be in and how it can affect their goals, both good and bad. I genuinely have a love for languages and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others, especially grammar and mechanics. I earned my B.A. in English and Spanish from Howard University. I have held several positions in education after earning my B.A.: Assistant Teacher, Special Education Aide, and Substitute Teacher, to name a few. I have extensive knowledge in several subjects, although my favorites are Reading and Writing. I also tutor Spanish, levels 1-3. I have taught phonics, essay editing, and grammar and mechanics. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, doing various art projects, being outside, practicing and improving my Spanish, reading, and writing.
